This full-day international art conference comprises keynote speeches and specialised seminars aimed at promoting academic and cultural exchanges. The organiser will provide lunch, refreshments, and participation certificates for all participants.

Know more about the speakers:
Dr Paul Boey Teik Soon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Arts from the China Nanjing Academy of Arts, and serves as a supervisor for  master’s and PhD degree students at the New Era University College in Malaysia. His primary research areas include the history of Chinese and Western fine arts, art education, as well as the cultural and artistic development of China and Southeast Asia along with the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dr Chung Yi, who holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Literature from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, is currently a Professor of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics in China. She also holds positions in multiple art institutions and has published over 20 academic writings.

Teng Wen Chang, Chairman of Art Consultant of Pingsheh Beijing Opera Association in Singapore,  has provided artistic guidance for several significant events such as the Golden Horse Awards, Golden Bell Awards, and Golden Melody Awards.

Hsu Juan Yueh, Founder and President of Taoyuan City Dadi Art and Literature, actively integrates art with philanthropy. She has published 11 volumes of art catalogue and held over 30 solo exhibitions.

Dr Cheah Thien Soong obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Art Philosophy from the  Inter-American University (IAU) in the USA in 2002. He currently serves as the Honorary Director of the Oriental Art & Cultural Center. His artistic style is deeply influenced by the “Nanyang style” and he is recognised as a master of the Nanyang-style ink painting.

1. Two-Day Oil Painting Portrait Workshop

These painting workshops are suitable for individuals with some foundation-level painting skills. Participants will learn how to use oil painting techniques to create portraits. Additionally, 50% of the workshop fee will be donated to charity.

Deng Hua graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in oil painting, and subsequently obtained his master’s degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China, majoring in mural painting.


2. Flower-and-Bird Finger Painting Two-Day Art Workshop

The Finger Painting Workshop welcomes children aged eight and above or adults, no prior painting experience is required. Participants will learn how to draw flowers and birds using finger painting techniques. Additionally, 50% of the workshop fee will be donated to charity.

Know more about the instructors:
Lim Sue Luan studied the art of finger painting under the guidance of finger painting master Wu Tsai Yan. She has held several solo exhibitions, and was awarded the prestigious Grand Prize of the Asia Pacific Art Exhibition in Seoul, 2012.

Ding Yu Ming, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Economics and Management from Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China, founded the Aesthetic Museum of Johor Bahru in 2019 and serves as its chief curator, and is actively contributing to the development  of the local art scene.
