Curating the Gaze: Exhibitions as Visual Choreography

Event Highlight

About the Talks:

Exhibitions may appear to be simple presentations of artworks, yet every display we encounter is intentionally crafted!

From artwork placement and lighting to visitor flow and labels, each curatorial decision subtly shapes the way we see and interpret a work.

This session draws on the Metropolitan Museum’s Impressionist Exhibition and the Palace Museum’s Centennial Exhibition to explore how curators construct modes of viewing and reveal the narrative frameworks operating behind the scenes.
