“Rocks from Yon Hills – Contemporary Ink Art Exhibition by C. N. Liew” is the first exhibition by an Asian artist, hosted at a world-class institution, the Clare Hall, University of Cambridge, UK. This solo exhibition by renowned Malaysian contemporary artist Mr. C.N. Liew runs from 24 November 2022 to 5 January 2023.

As the first Malaysian artist to exhibit at the University of Cambridge and a pioneer of contemporary ink art in South East Asia, C. N. Liew’s work thoroughly expresses the spirit of dialogue between Eastern and Western aesthetics and contemporary ink painting. Appreciating C.N. Liew’s works are both a visual treat and a stimulating experience for the mind.

Jointly-organised by the Department of Chinese Studies, University of Malaya, and Soka Gakkai Malaysia, co-organised by The Alumni Association of the Department of Chinese Studies, University of Malaya, this forum aims to provide a deeper insight into C.N. Liew’s artistic conception through dialogue on the perspectives of art, philosophy and literature.
